1. Equipment Introduction


The zirconia corundum furnace is essentially a three-phase electric arc furnace. It melts alumina and zirconia at a temperature above 2000℃ to produce fused zirconia corundum (AZS) refractory materials and abrasives. Common model: HY2.8-4000KVA, with a melting capacity of 3–5t and furnace shell inner diameter of 2200–2800mm.

Application Purpose

Used for smelting fused zirconia corundum, fused alumina, mullite and other abrasives and refractory materials. The finished products are widely applied in glass kilns, metallurgical nozzles, wear-resistant components, etc.

Structural Features

Fixed water-cooled furnace roof, top feeding and top oxygen blowing design; upper and lower furnace body structure. The outer wall of the lower furnace shell adopts spray cooling, and the furnace body tilts hydraulically for discharging.

Main Components

  • Furnace Body: Welded steel plate shell with discharge spout and external spray cooling system.
  • Water-Cooled Furnace Roof: Plate/tube type water cooling, equipped with electrode holes, feeding holes and oxygen blowing holes.
  • Electrode Lifting System: Driven by frequency conversion/hydraulic pressure, PLC automatic adjustment, fast response and stable control.
  • Short Network System: Water-cooled cables + copper-steel composite cross arm, low and balanced three-phase impedance.
  • Hydraulic System: Working pressure 12MPa, controlling furnace body tilting and electrode clamping.
  • Water Cooling System: Forced cooling for furnace body, furnace roof, cross arm and cables, with pressure and temperature alarm function.

Working Principle

Three graphite electrodes are electrified to generate electric arcs. The ultra-high arc temperature (over 2000℃) melts the mixed raw materials of zircon sand and alumina. The molten liquid is poured, cooled and crushed to obtain finished zirconia corundum products.
