3200KVA DC Electric Arc Furnace for Silicomanganese Alloy Smelting
A 3200KVA direct current furnace built for silicomanganese and manganese alloy smelting in the 9000 to 14000 tonne per year range. The single electrode DC arc gives a steady, deep heat that suits the strongly reducing conditions silicomanganese needs, and the quiet arc keeps the surrounding manganese and silicon reduction zones intact.
Core Selling Points
- Stable arc power for a narrow process window. Thyristor regulation holds DC current within plus or minus 1 percent, so reduction conditions do not drift as the burden descends.
- Higher silicon and manganese yield. Deep bath coverage plus electromagnetic circulation supports combined recovery of 85 percent and above on standard manganese ore blends.
- Half the graphite of an AC unit. One 300mm electrode brings consumption near 8 kg per tonne of alloy and removes two electrode columns from the maintenance routine.
- Grid friendly at mid capacity. Flicker reduction above 50 percent and low harmonic emission let the unit share a 10kV or 35kV feeder with plant loads.
- Fast changeover between grades. The small shell and tilting design let the plant switch between silicomanganese and ferromanganese with minimal transition scrap.
