1. Overview of the Low Carbon Ferrochrome Refining Furnace
The low carbon ferrochrome refining electric furnace is a tilting-type refining unit specially designed for the electro-silicothermic production of low carbon and micro carbon ferrochrome. It refines high carbon ferrochrome melts with chromium ore and lime under a reducing atmosphere, effectively lowering the carbon content while protecting chromium recovery. The furnace is widely applied in ferroalloy plants for producing low carbon ferrochrome (C<=0.5%) and micro carbon ferrochrome (C<=0.1%) with stable alloy quality.
2. Main Structure and Components
The refining furnace mainly consists of the tilting furnace shell, refractory lining, three-phase electrode system, transformer and high current supply, hydraulic tilting device, water cooling system, electrode lifting mechanism, feeding system and PLC automatic control system. The compact layout saves plant floor space and simplifies operation for continuous refining campaigns.
