25000KVA Three Electrode Titanium Slag Smelting Furnace
This 25000KVA three electrode AC furnace smelts ilmenite into titanium slag for the sulfate titanium dioxide route. Titanium slag is highly conductive at 1650 °C and above, so electrode immersion depth and power input per unit area are controlled tightly to keep the slag bath open and the iron phase separated. The semi-closed water-cooled hood holds the bath under controlled negative pressure, and the tilted tapping launder discharges slag and metal into separate ladles in one heat cycle.
Titanium Slag Process Advantages
- Designed for conductive TiO2 slag: wide electrode pitch and adjustable immersion depth prevent current channelling and keep the bath temperature uniform at 1650-1750 °C.
- High slag grade: controlled reduction time and charge ratio give TiO2 74-78% slag suitable for sulfate route pigment feedstock, with iron content below 8%.
- Semi-closed hood: water-cooled panels and negative pressure operation capture the fume, protect the working platform and cut heat radiation to the tapping floor.
- Short tap cycle: hydraulic tilting shell plus twin launders separate slag and pig iron in one pour, saving 15-20 minutes per heat.
- Proven regulation: PLC electrode impedance control holds the set power load within ±3% and reduces electrode breakage during charge collapses.
