The coal gangue fused mullite electric arc furnace is a high-temperature electric melting furnace specially designed for the resource utilization of coal gangue, a major industrial solid waste. Through proportioning coal gangue with bauxite and alumina and melting the charge in an electric arc furnace at 1900-2100°C, the equipment produces high-grade fused mullite (M60/M70) refractory aggregate. Production Process
Coal gangue is crushed, ground and proportioned with bauxite and alumina to the mullite composition, then continuously charged into the furnace. The electric arc melts the charge into a homogeneous liquid; iron oxide in the gangue is reduced and settles as a metal layer for separate removal. The purified mullite melt is poured or tapped, cooled, crushed and classified into M60/M70 fused mullite aggregates for refractory production.
