Hot Slag Conditioning Furnace Equipment Introduction & Technical Parameters

1. Equipment Overview

The hot slag conditioning furnace is core thermal equipment for metallurgical solid waste resource utilization. It receives hot molten slag at about 1300℃ discharged from submerged arc furnaces and blast furnaces. Through electric arc heating, component conditioning and homogenization treatment, it stabilizes molten slag temperature at 1450–1500℃, accurately adjusts chemical composition and flow rate. The treated slag can be directly supplied for rock wool fiber forming and building material raw materials, realizing hot slag direct utilization, waste heat recovery and zero discharge of solid waste.

Core Functions

  • Slag receiving & storage: Closed slag feeding to reduce heat loss and dust emission
  • Temperature rising: Three-phase electric arc heating to compensate temperature drop of 100–150℃
  • Component conditioning: Add quartz sand, limestone and other additives with max conditioning ratio ≤30% to adjust acidity coefficient to optimal fiber-forming range
  • Temperature & composition homogenization: Combined electric arc stirring and bottom nitrogen injection, temperature uniformity ±5℃
  • Quantitative slag tapping: Water-cooled slag outlet for stable flow control matching centrifuge production
  • Waste heat recovery: Flue gas waste heat utilization rate ≥80% for preheating and power generation

Structural Composition

  1. Furnace body: All-steel shell + multi-layer refractory lining (high-alumina brick / silicon carbide ramming mass)
  2. Furnace cover: Plate-type water cooling with airtight seal, reserved holes for electrodes, feeding and smoke exhaust
  3. Electrode system: 3 graphite electrodes with hydraulic lifting and automatic arc length adjustment
  4. Short net & water-cooled cables: Energy-saving design to lower impedance and power consumption
  5. Slag tapping outlet: Side water-cooled copper slag door + bottom residual iron outlet
